The Hurricane and Zone Conference

Hey Everyone!

This week was full of adventure, thanks in no small part to Hurricane Florence.

This week started out with a visit down to Charlotte which was fun and we got to catch up with a few old ward members while we were down there. It was not a short drive, so my companion and I sang the entire way there and back, haha.

On Thursday we had a zone conference that was twice the size we expected it to be because there was supposed to be another one on Friday, but the hurricane made them have to combine with us! It was so much fun to see so many of the missionaries that I have served with over the past year. The trainings were also really great. Zone conferences always just fuel a fire in you and motivate you to go out and work harder than ever. Thank goodness we all got that fire right before being confined to our apartments (sarcasm)!

Yup, we were grounded to our apartments on Friday afternoon thanks to the storm, and haven’t been allowed to leave (unless we lose power or flood, which we didn’t) until this morning, now that the storm has left our area. They even cancelled church yesterday, which was my first time not going to church while on my mission and it felt weird. It’s still pretty cloudy out, but the rain should have passed by now. We had to get pretty creative towards the end of the day yesterday to keep each other sane haha. I never thought it would be so hard to not work for two days, but it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done on the mission!

Thank you all for your prayers, it has been a rough weekend stuck inside, but thankfully we remained safe and managed not to lose power!

Love y’all! Have a great week!
