The Silver Bullet

Hello Everyone,

This week has just flown by! I feel like it was just barely Monday!

We got a surprise adventure Monday evening as we got picked up by the Assistants who live in our same complex and they took us to the Mission Office at like 9 to help them film a video for a Mission Leadership Conference they were holding the next day and they has us decorate the Mission van which is one of those big 12 person vans and it had many names; Bertha, Val, and my favorite, the Silver Bullet! But anyway they had us decorate it and stuff for the video. I wish I could share it with y’all but we don’t have a copy of it but it was hilarious. Then on Thursday 10 missionaries (us included) and an elderly couple all piled into the Silver Bullet and rode to this Methodist church where we help out in their big Soup Kitchen each week and that was a lot of fun! I love serving there because you get to talk with such great people.

When we got here the members of our church didn’t really welcome us in because they didn’t like the missionaries before us. Since then we have been doing everything to build connections from dropping off thank you cards to the few families that have been super helpful, to stopping by and visiting the other families of the ward. It’s starting to pay off I guess because the ward is really opened up to us now and I think they are starting to realize that we are here to work, not to goof off. But really though I love it here in the Reedy Creek ward because there is so much to do! There is never a reason to be bored here and I love it.

“Faith is not knowing that the future holds, but knowing who holds the future” I love this quote because it really is so true. I cannot explain the amount of comfort I have found amidst the chaos of these past few weeks because of my knowledge that it is all part of God’s plan. It helps me to focus on looking for what God might be expecting me to gain from a particular experience instead of focusing on the experience itself. I love my mission, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Until next week!

1-3: it’s been super humid and so there has been a lot of fog so we decided to take some pictures
4. Oh and we were riding home from our hike last week and one of the assistants (Elder Carroll) stopped to get BoBerry Biscuits from Bojangles because Elder Berryhill (overalls) hadn’t had one yet!
